Humans can see more shades of green than any other colour. The reason is that for most of human history green was essentially survival information, it told you where the food was, whether the land was good, what was alive and what wasn't. Wait, actually learning about human evolution through a sneaker drop. Really? But it maybe explains why a shade of green can grab your attention before you've figured out what you're looking at, and why you'll notice it on someone's heel from halfway down the street before anything else.
If you're into sneakers, you probably recognise that Pantone 3500C on the Stan Smiths instantly. They have had the same exact shade for decades. What most don't know is that the shoe itself has been quietly changing the whole time. The tongue has been getting longer, the silhouette softer and chunkier and the overall proportions shifting gradually.
